The exalted one Brodie Lee, who spoke to Busted Open Radio about his new AEW character being similar to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
As the Exalted One, the former Luke Harper has parodied a lot of Vince McMahon’s mannerisms, such as a disdain for sneezing and people eating before he is finished, but Lee gave a different reason for the character to Busted Open radio, saying:
I happen to be a fan of mafia movies, so that’s the way the character was portrayed for me. Like I said, I believe that the leadership style, the results speak for themselves.(H/T: Cageside Seats)
Brodie Lee went on to say that whilst fans can take the character how they want, nothingness done similar to McMahon is intentional, though we doubt everyone will be.
AEW executive vice president Cody Rhodes also spoke earlier this year, that there are unique similarities between Lee’s character and Vince McMahon, but it was not an outright spoof of the WWE Chairman.
Lee joined AEW in March this year, after being released by WWE in December last year. The former Luke harper enjoys his new run in a new company where he gets a good push compared to his WWE run and His new character was deemed to be a deliberate joke on his previous boss Vince McMahon, but Lee tried to clear everything during this interview.
