Former US and NXT Champion Samoa Joe still hasn’t returned to the ring after an injury suffered during a WWE’s commercial shoot.
Currently serving as a commentator on Red Brand RAW, it’s looking possible that the WWE may keep Samoa Joe in the role, as the Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the company is considering Joe to be a permanent replacement to their one of the best commentator Jerry Lawler. They added:
“What that means if/when he is cleared is that he may have the role where he announces and they can shoot angles for him to wrestle using that (since those kinds of angles usually do well).”
Samoa Joe joined the commentary booth on Raw due to his ever-growing injury and has quickly become one of the best announcers in the company. But now the possibilities are coming out about his ring career and commentator career.
It seems like WWE saw Samoa Joe as too valuable in the ring to lose, and whilst that may still be the case, it’s clear that the WWE also likes him on commentary.
If Joe is able to move past his current Concussion issues, then the company could certainly do with him In-ring action again, but for now, it appears the Samoan Submission Machine has a new spot in the company, that will get his classic commentary voice much more TV time.
Joe’s entire WWE career has been fraught with injury, he has returned to the ring several times with his short time injury, but this time it has become a bit long and he has also joined the commentary booth.
So many negative speculations were being made about his wrestling career, but this report has given some relief to his fans.
We hope that he returns to the ring soon.
