Here is the WWE news regarding 619 Rey Mysterio’s retirement and Sami Zayn Return.
619 Master Rey Mysterio’s retirement ceremony will be held at the next Monday Night Raw.
The retirement ceremony for the masked Superstar Rey Mysterio has been confirmed for next week’s Red Brand Show. This follows on from Mysterio having his eye grinded into the steel steps by Seth Rollins, something that WWE is describing as a critical injury, and this follows reports that Rey Mysterio has yet to sign a new deal with Company, but it’s likely he will.
Mysterio’s contract is up in a few months, and the WWE gave him a 10-month clause on his contract, as they didn’t want to get him involved in anything long-term if he hasn’t re-signed.
Of course, this ceremony is part of a storyline angle, and given that Rey’s alleged retirement will presumably lead to a match against the Monday Night Messiah, it certainly looks likely he’ll stay with WWE.
Sami Zyan’s Return Plan Updates..
Here is the update of Sami Zayn’s Return, as plans have emerged on when fans can expect the former Intercontinental Champion will back.
After capturing the intercontinental title earlier this year, Zayn was stripped of the gold following a decision not to appear due to the ongoing Corona Virus situation, with a tournament set to crown a new champion.
Now Cageside Seats have stated that fans can expect the former champion will return sooner than expected, as they reported:
“The expectation is Sami Zayn will work a program with whoever wins the Intercontinental championship tournament, per The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.”Cageside Seats
It’s likely that the tournament will end, possibly with a face capturing the title, which would justify the tournament and a subsequent feud with the heel returning Zayn.
It’ll be interesting to see how the former champion will be treated upon his return, and although the current situation don’t seem to be going anyway anytime soon, it seems fans will be seeing Underdog sooner rather than later.
