Here is your news of the coming blue brand show as this Friday’s show will be the final event before WrestleMania, and the WWE has announced a lot of segments ahead of time to get the fans to tune in.
It’s been confirmed that John Cena will appear on the blue brand this week, and is expected to answer Bray Wyatt regarding their upcoming Firefly Fun House match this week.
The SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Miz and John Morrison will also host another episode of The Dirt Sheet, and whilst the pair were supposed to face The Usos and the New Day in a triple-threat tag team Ladder match at WrestleMania, its unclear what will happen, as the Miz was reportedly showing signs of Illness recently.
Though it hasn’t been confirmed by WWE, it’s also expected that WWE will make a change to the Universal Championship match, as with Roman Reigns off the mania card, it’s been heavily rumored that Braun Strowman will replace him as Goldberg’s opponent.
As of right now, no matches have been announced for this Friday’s show, as the road to unquestionably the strangest WrestleMania of all time is nearly at its end.
One SmackDown storyline that fans have seen plenty of in the past few months is that between Otis and Mandy Rose, as the Heavy Machinery powerhouse is still hoping to win over the Golden Goddess.
Despite the fact that Rose has aligned herself with Dolph Ziggler, this hasn’t stopped Otis’s unrequited love for her, as he posted on Twitter that
Rose is the most beautiful woman in the world and called her his Peach.
She is The MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN DA WORLD ✊🏻— OTIS (Dozer) (@otiswwe) March 30, 2020
I’m COMINNNNNNN’ My Peach! https://t.co/7EylDpnIX6
This nickname is something that Otis has been using for Rose since their days back in NXT, and whilst it’s adorable that the heavyweight still has feelings for her, despite everything that has happened, it seems that Mandy is more than happy in the arms of the Show-Off, who will face Otis this weekend at WrestleMania.
It’s clear that the WWE TV just isn’t quite the same without a live crowd in the arena, and despite the best efforts of WWE to provide high-quality content, fans just weren’t tuning in last week.
For the company’s third episode of SmackDown without an audience, the show drew an average of 2.36 million viewers on FOX, according to Showbuzz Daily.
This number is down 8% from the week prior’s 2.56 million, which was the best number for the blue brand since their move to FOX last October.
In fact, this week’s show wasn’t just bad, but it was the lowest SmackDown viewership of 2020, with the last lowest-rated show taking place on December 13th, which drew 2.33 million fans.
In the coveted 18-49 demographic, last Friday’s show drew a 0.7 rating, down slightly from the prior week’s 0.8 ratings, and for the second week in a row, SmacKkDown came in eight places on the night for viewership on Network TV.
Given the current circumstances, it’s hardly surprising that the blue brand is suffering without a live crowd, and hopefully, things will get back to normal sooner rather than later.
